7L & Esoteric – “The Soul Purpose” review

After releasing several singles & 1 EP, Boston underground hip hop duo 7L & Esoteric finally come through with their very 1st full-length album. And to be honest, the beats are dope & the rhymes are hard hitting but I feel that there’s a lot of filler on here. Don’t get me wrong Operating Correctly, Think Back & Speaking Real Words (the latter of which appeared on the EP with the same name) are among the duo’s best tracks ever but I feel that it’s too long of a debut album. Luckily, they would step their whole game up a year later with their sophomore effort Dangerous Connection

SCORE: 3.5/5
