Diorvsyou – “Pre Gamé” review

New surprise EP & the 6th overall from Atlanta, Georgia recording artist Diorvsyou. Coming up in 2021 off his inaugural extended play Scoreboard, it wasn’t until I saw him open up for southsidesilhouette in Brooklyn the following November where I was personally introduced to his music & I was actually impressed with his set. w.t.f.i.dvy? (who the fuck is diorvsyou?) marked a bigger breakthrough for him artistically & returned up from the Ashes almost a year since Diorvsrxlvnd’s eponymous debut. The last few EPs Untitled EP.9 as well as So Cunt. & Paussus.99 have all been received positively, dropping Pre Gamé in the midst of his ongoing Twitter beef with Destroy Lonely alongside ApolloRed1 & 9 Vicious.

“Options” starts with a plugg instrumental from 406ahmad & an eyebrow-raising bar about wanting to sleep with this hoe’s friend despite being underage whereas “Pullup!” goes for a pluggier vibe thanks to n9ck telling all the hoes to come where he’s staying at. “H8 da Real Meh” heads for cloudier territory explaining that he drinks in the middle of the day because of self-hatred & after “Dope!” bodies a Pi’erre Bourne beat to send off the Pre Gamé talking about all his women doing drugs, “High Schøøl” featuring EAtj starts the deluxe run taking the rage-inducing route looking back at when they didn’t have shit during their adolescence.

EAtj sticks around 1 last time for “2 Shows” talking about the women they’re dating having their own styles while “Manual” has an angrier atmosphere generally responding to people saying he sold his soul after meeting with Interscope Records. “Fukitup!” featuring Reezy X & Tezzus talks about derailing their opps while “Hell of It” boasts of him having tons of hoe’s for fun. “Cannibal” compares the head he’s receiving to the act of cannibalism itself & the final bonus track “1st Off” goes back-to-back with Pi’erre.

I truly couldn’t tell you whether he’s being serious about the minor bar during the intro or if it’s a jab at the fact 9 Vicious put the worst song of his entire career “Clout Demons” on his YSL Records debut Tumblr Music at the end of March but either way, a great deal of this EP teases what’s to come of Diorvsyou’s forthcoming debut album Soirée a year from now putting out a 10 minute 4-pack improving from Paussus.99’s production & performing by himself for most of the time other than a few guests.

Score: 3.5/5

Diorvsyou – “Paussus.99” review

Another month & we got the 5th EP from Atlanta, Georgia recording artist Diorvsyou. Coming up in 2021 off his debut EP Scoreboard, it wasn’t until I saw him open up for southsidesilhouette in Brooklyn the following November where I was personally introduced to his music & I was actually impressed with his set. The next EP w.t.f.i.dvy? (who the fuck is diorvsyou?) marked a bigger breakthrough for him artistically & returned up from the Ashes almost a year since Diorvsrxlvnd’s eponymous debut. The last couple EPs Untitled EP.9 & So Cunt. have both been received well enough to the point where Paussus.99 could elevate himself & the guests on the 1st leg.

“Pierce My Lungs” featuring ApolloRed1 was an exciting collab to open things up talking about being rockstars whereas “West” featuring untiljapan shows off a back-&-forth chemistry from the 2 that impressed me. “OnTheWay” featuring Sk8star has a tropical approach thanks to Taurus finds them having cash coming in their direction while “FountaineeBleu” cloudily pauses for the pictures only.

A reversed sample of “Olympian” by Playboi Cartipops up during “In Loading…” assuring nothing will stop him until “Flat Shoals Road” featuring Sk8star & southsidesilhoutte produced by Pi’erre Bourne finishes the EP with a sequel to “sex” off of Sk8’s most recent EP Rebelution only a few months ago carrying the energy they had on that standout over once again.

Both predecessor EPs we’ve gotten from Dior this year so far have been increasing his popularity due to his personal & artistic growth, but Paussus.99 could be my new favorite of the trilogy. He gets some of the biggest names in the underground trap scene within these past few years on a vast majority of it showcasing their styles complimenting his on top of elevated production catering to everybody’s own individual strengths.

Diorvsyou – “So Cunt.” review

Atlanta, Georgia up-&-comer Diorvsyou with his 2nd EP of the year & the 4th in his discography overall. Coming up in 2021 off his debut EP Scoreboard, it wasn’t until I saw him open up for southsidesilhouette in Brooklyn the following November where I was personally introduced to his music & I was actually impressed with his set. The next EP w.t.f.i.dvy? (who the fuck is diorvsyou)? marked a bigger breakthrough for him artistically & returned up from the Ashes almost a year since Diorvsrxlvnd’s eponymous debut. The previous EP Untitled EP.9 came out a couple months ago & is already keeping himself busy with So Cunt..

“Slit Ya Throat” produced by Devstacks & Goxan is this regalia intro looking to swag all of his sorrows away & tryin’ not to pop shit even if it may seem difficult whereas “Nosferatu” works in a psychedelic trap instrumental talking about feeling like an extraterrestrial vampire. “I.S.S.” brings a plugg flare to the table thanks to Devstacks once more telling his hoe to be grateful & keep faithin’ leading into “I Wonder” taking a moment to think about whether or not if any of this shit means anything to him & Devstacks applying even more pressure behind the boards.

The quirky synthesizers from 406ahmad on “Outta Hea” are a nice touch being on whole new levels of zooted just before Cade gives “1 Mistake” a cloudier vibe referencing Boston Celtics player Jayson Tatum. “Rob a Bank” gets back on the plugg tip having his twin watching his flank during a robbery while “Royal Rumble” makes comparison to WWE’s signature 30-man battle royale in light of this year’s winner Jey Uso dethroning Gunther to become the new World Heavyweight Champion last weekend. “Pissed” closes with an ode to the rockstar life that MexikoDro laced wanting to die in a mosh pit.

Dior is somebody in the regalia subgenre of plugg music I’ve been covering for several years up until this point & I would HIGHLY suggest you listen to So Cunt. or really the whole Diorvsyou catalog for anyone reading this who got introduced to regalia through the new Dave Blunts album You Can’t Say That getting the polarizing reception it deserves. The best regalia producer in the game Devstacks producing half of this was a great call & Dior is a far more captivating performer than Dave Blunts ever could be.

Diorvsyou – “Untitled EP.9” review

This is the 3rd EP from Atlanta, Georgia up-&-comer Diorvsyou. That said, he’s dropping off Untitled EP.9 a couple days ahead of Valentine’s Day weekend.

“Ronda Rousey” with Cxdy of Internet Money Records & Vanguard Music Group opens with a cloudy ode to the UFC Hall of Famer, the inaugural UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, 3-time WWE women’s world champion & WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion from both TKO Group Holdings divisions whereas “Allclear” talks about seeing everything. “BBeep” works in some rage influences cashing out leading into “KTA” talking about wanting to body everyone in his path.

As for “WYA” produced by 406ahmad, we have Dior referencing current AEW World Tag Team Champion Bobby Lashley of The Hurt Syndicate after taking the belts from the previous titleholders in former GCW Tag Team Champions & HoG Tag Team Champions Private Party while “Talmbout” featuring Sk8star brings the pair together to talk about exactly how fly they get. “Freshman” boasts that he takes risk daily trying to get high enough to see heaven itself on the daily & “decarnin balmain” ends by showing fondness of Christophe Decarnin’s time as Balmain’s creative director.

He recently made a handful of standout appearances on The XA Tape that the Xavier Anthony clothing brand put out last weekend even if one of the executive producers incorrectly accused me of using AI on my review on it because I’ve never used AI in my life & Dior gears up for an upcoming sophomore effort teasing 16 minutes of the modern trap sounds he’s become known for.

Diorvsyou – “Ashes” review

Atlanta, Georgia up-&-comer Diorvsyou releasing his full-length debut album. Coming up in 2021 off his debut EP Scoreboard, it wasn’t until I saw him open up for southsidesilhouette in Brooklyn the folllwing November where I was personally introduced to his music & I was actually impressed with his set. The next EP w.t.f.i.dvy? (who the fuck is diorvsyou?) marked a bigger breakthrough for him artistically & almost a year since Diorvsrxlvnd’s eponymous debut, Dior himself’s returning up from the Ashes.

“Long Time” is this rage-inducing open or acknowledging the fact that it’s been a while since we’ve heard from him & that’s how life goes sometimes whereas “SoFarGone” produced by Zaan takes the psychedelic trap route instrumentally talking about everything being new. “WakeUpThumb” has a bit of a cloudy trap approach flexing his lifestyle just before the booming “Leisure” talks about being so high at the moment.

southsidesilhouette & Sk8star both join Dior on “ToThePlan” for a 3-headed monster of a trap heater produced by Y3rip & n9ck promising to come get you right if you talkin’ down leading into “African King” talks about having so much swag to the point where he doesn’t even know what he wants when hitting the stores anymore. “Fashion Forward” works in some hypertrap undertones to the beat boasting that none of the shit he puts on wax is fiction, but then the playful “Mudwash” talks about having too many options at his dispense.

“Prblms” featuring REEZY X brings the pair together over a regalia instrumental interpolating the classic JAY-Z single “99 Problems” while the inebriating atmosphere of “No Kap” featuring Sk8star talks about the fact that both of them are fly & they be makin’ this shit look ways. “:tf” featuring southsidesilhouette leaves hoes with the sad face explaining to them that’s not how shit goes for either one of them despite the horn-laced drill beat while the moody “Smash” boasts his wealth.

Meanwhile on “RacksIn”, we have Dior starting the final leg of Ashes on some cloudy trap shit talking about the racks coming in & cash going out while the otherworldly “Rated R” promises to let the 9 off if anyone ever tries to play with him. “X2” featuring Galactic Records signee tana turns the bass up high running an entire mile with Rick Owens boots on both of their feet & lastly, the closer “Toast” that Nosaint of Vanguard Music Group laced vibrantly ends Dior’s debut asking where his Day 1s are.

w.t.f.i.dvy? (who the fuck is diorvsyou?) showed quite a bit of potential in the 4evrrthumbin’ member & Ashes a year & a half later takes that same potential to newer heights. The guest-list is mostly consisting, there’s a lot more outside collaborators than there was on that previous EP as opposed to a single producer’s particular sound & Dior himself feels rejuvenated.

Score: 4/5

Diorvsyou – “w.t.f.i.dvy? (who the fuck is diorvsyou?)” review

This is the 2nd EP from Atlanta, Georgia up-&-comer Diorvsyou. Coming up in 2021 off his last EP Scoreboard, it wasn’t until I saw him open up for southsidesilhouette in Brooklyn back in November where I was personally introduced to his music & I was actually impressed with his set. But considering that his born day was just a few days ago, what better way for him to give back to the fans than to introduce himself to a wider audience & enlist Zaan to oversee w.t.f.i.dvy? (who the fuck is diorvsyou?).

The title track kicks off the album with euphoric trap ballad produced by Toom of Vanguard Music Group talking about trying to hit everybody in the club whereas “mi amor” works in an angelic loop as well as some horns & hi-hats for a dedication to the love of his life. “Django” takes a more otherworldly trap route thanks to thr6x telling the coach to put him in the game because he knows the plan just before the cloudy yet bass heavy “look alike” by 4evrrthumbin’ boasts the fact that all their bitches fine.

Meanwhile, “fuck a bank” co-produced by Patrick Garza flexes having a money counter with a wavily colorful trap beat while the penultimate track “prize pick” takes a futuristic approach telling his hoe that he chose from the start to play her part cleverly enough. The penultimate track “joerogan” is a psychedelic banger of a closer that Cxdy of Internet Money Records laced making it clear to some hoe that living good these days & “throw up” ends the EP with some hi-hats & high-pitched synthesizers courtesy of Nosaint talking about classy shit.

If you’re aren’t familiar with this guy, then I think this EP should make you wake the fuck up because he just took it to a whole new level on here in comparison to Scoreboard. Zaan continues to himself to be a producer that you should keep an eye out for down the road as his production game is amongst is strongest to date & Dior’s performances are his most captivating.

Score: 4/5
